The Great Wide Divide have two new releases on the horizon.
With our new name comes the re-release of our first album RESET, ten songs remastered to create a new experience for new fans and old.
During our recess from live performance we've amassed a catalog of classic songs with the GWD sound. REWIND is a five song EP of songs from the likes of The Spinners and Echo and the Bunnymen reimagined by THE GREAT WIDE DIVIDE.
RESET and REWIND will both be available for streaming and download on June 1st.
Here's a teaser from REWIND on us:
RESET is our first studio album. Ten songs were written over ten months in the studio, some built out of existing song ideas, some written during the recording process. Tony’s gentle, lyrical style harmonized with Dan’s driving yet layered rhythmic compositions, resulting in a booming, expressive sound with a heartfelt core.
The creative process behind RESET was spontaneous and uncensored. No idea was turned down for being “too this” or “too that.” As a result, songs like “Machines and Magnets” and “Desperate” have a strong rock influence, while “Whisper” and “Domino” have an acoustic folk imprint. Combined with the ambient vibe of “Lose You Too Soon” and the alternative undertone of “Make Space”, RESET yields a dynamic listening experience.

These were the wise words a young stranger told Tony, as he was questioning his music career. This advice would inspire his path to an unlikely stage of a suburban backyard in Pennsylvania, where his creative energy would find its way to Daniel.
And so, the kindness of a friend, the curiosity of a musical ear, and the faithful leap of a foolish heart all coalesced on a summer evening. A house concert turned showcase, an audience of soccer moms camouflaging an accidental A&R rep: the kind of stage you can’t build, the kind of show you can’t promote, the kind of timing that seconds, minutes, and hours do not dictate. But THE GREAT WIDE DIVIDE is more than just a fortunate accident.
Separated by a handful of states and a lifetime of musical experiences, Tony Bernardo and Daniel Scott converged in Royersford, PA in September of 2014 to form THE GREAT WIDE DIVIDE. The level of trust they had for each other was instant, but grew even stronger over the course of ten long months in the studio. The soundscape of a troubled past contrasting with the bottomless optimism of a true believer, Tony and Dan had a fiery dynamic that propelled the rocket, and nearly sank the ship.
THE GREAT WIDE DIVIDE are two multi-instrumentalists with one sound, two solo artists with one vision, two souls with one purpose: to open hearts through the sound they make.
